VJE's semi-automatic PMT 400S is a stand-alone, non-contact
system for the automatic removal of residual solder from
a rework site. Based on the well established Summit
Scavengers, the 400S provides all the advanced features
necessary for rapid and repeatable site dressing.
Employing the easy to use SierraMate Scavenging software
with simple 1 – 2 – 3 – GO point-and-click user interface,
the 400S with its Dynamic Height Sensing delivers a
low cost solution to the toughest challenges.

The VJE 400S scavenger, with its automated X – Y motion, is
pre-programmed to traverse the component site in the
fastest and most efficient fashion resulting in the optimum
heat transfer to melt the solder while subjecting the PCB
to the minimum time/temperature exposure. The design
of the scavenge head and the Dynamic Height Sensing
feature combine to perform the solder removal operation
in such a fashion as to leave the component footprint in
the most suitable condition of solderability for the replacement
of a new component. Suitable for conventional Sn/Pb and Lead Free solders, the 400S is shop floor ready for today’s production environments.

The PMT 400 utilizes cost effective innovative technology to meet most production needs. The X and Y slide allows for repeatable and fast positioning of the device to be placed while allowing the PC board to remain stationary over the IR heater. The integrated automatic Z motion provides precise positioning of components utilizing the Theta adjustment in conjunction with the up/down camera viewing system.
